International Jury of PQ 2023 is complete

Since 1967, Prague Quadrennial has hosted countries and regions with their high-quality art of scenography and performance design in two competitive exhibitions: Exhibition of Countries and Regions and Student Exhibition. The best artists of PQ 2023 will be awarded by an international jury, comprising leading practitioners and theorists in scenography, architecture, and design.

We officially announce the PQ International Jury for the 15th edition of the festival:

  • Asiimwe Deborah Kawe – Playwright, performer, and producer, currently working as a Specialist for Sundance Institute East Africa and a mentor with the Hamburg-based Do School.
  • D. Chase Angier – Artist, educator, curator, arts advocate, and a Professor of Dance at Alfred University, Performing Arts Division + School of Art and Design. Artistic Director of Angier Performance Works and Marlin Miller Dance Residency Program.
  • Marianela Boán – Choreographer and one of the most important artists of the Cuban and Latin American dance. Her revolutionary style ‘Dance Polluted’ radically mixes all the arts associated with dance. As a choreographer, dancer, and teacher, Boán has worked in more than 40 countries.
  • Rosane Muniz – Artist, journalist, researcher, and curator, currently Invited Professor and Tutor at several Brazilian art universities. Rosane is Vice-Head for Projects at Performance Design Commission/Costume Design at OISTAT.
  • Serge von Arx – Architect and professor of scenography, the artistic director of the scenography department of the Norwegian Theatre Academy, and external professor at the Danish National School of Performing Arts.
  • Sophie Jump – Co-Artistic Director and designer for performance company Seven Sisters Group, well known internationally for their site-specific work. Sophie designs for theatre and performance and won the overall Gold Medal at World Stage Design 2013.
  • & Sven Jonke – One of the establishing members of an artistic collective Numen/For Use, creating conceptual models derived from their large-scale set-design projects and installation works.

Shortly, we will introduce in detail all the jurors, who will also become PQ ambassadors.
